In the light of the threat of coronavirus, we have been reviewing whether we should continue to run our lunch clubs.
We are very aware that our clients are all particularly vulnerable to the effects of the virus. But while the situation is constantly changing, the government is not currently advising older people to stay at home unless they are exhibiting symptoms of cold and flu. We also recognise how much our clients value attending our clubs.
While the government seems likely to decide in the near future to issue new guidance to older people, our immediate plan is for clubs to stay open for those who want to attend. Ultimately the decision to attend is for the individuals involved, supported by appropriate family members - and we'll be actively consulting members and families on a regular basis.
At the same time we will be asking any members or volunteers who are experiencing cold or flu symptoms to stay at home.
We will obviously be keeping the situation under constant review.
